Dr. Seleme utilizes the Cox Spinal Decompression Technic. Spinal decompression gently lengthens and decompresses the spine, creating negative pressure within your discs. When pressure is reversed an intradiscal vacuum is created. This vacuum takes the pressure off of pinched nerves, helps to reposition bulging discs and pulls extruded disc material back into place.

Cox Table

Cox Technic is non-surgical, doctor-controlled, hands-on spinal manipulation performed with the patient lying on The Cox Table, a specially designed chiropractic instrument. This table permits the effective administration of flexion-distraction and decompression adjustment and manipulation.

Cox decompression table reduces the pressure within the disc space. The vertebrae of the spine are slowly and specifically separated using the state-of-the-art Cox Spinal Decompression Unit. As the vertebrae are separated, pressure is slowly reduced within the disc until a vacuum is formed. This vacuum “pulls” the jelly-like center of the disc back inside thereby reducing the disc bulge or disc herniation. By reducing the disc bulge, we are able to reduce pressure off the spinal nerves. This process drastically reduces pain and disability. The “sucking” vacuum also pulls much-needed oxygen, nutrients and fluid into injured and degenerated discs allowing the healing to begin. Because the process is non-surgical, no tissue is actually cut in order to reduce pressure.

Disc Herniation

Well-researched and documented; flexion-distraction and decompression help relieve spinal pain and return patients to their desired quality of life by …

  • dropping intradiscal pressure to as low as -192mm Hg
  • widening the spinal canal foraminal area by 28%
  • reducing pressure on the spinal nerves
  • returning motion to the spinal joints

Cox Technic is appropriate for conditions causing low back and leg pain as well as neck and arm pain. It also reduces pain

MRI of disc herniation

attributable to …

  • disc herniation
  • a slipped disc
  • a ruptured disc
  • facet syndrome
  • stenosis
  • spondylolisthesis
